Education & Consulting
Trans Manitoba offers both professional development services and community support services.
Professional Consulting Services
Trans Manitoba works with individuals, schools, small businesses, nonprofits, and any organization ready to act on inclusion for Two Spirit, transgender, and nonbinary people. Our gender equity and inclusion training teaches you how to create a welcoming environment for employees and clients of all genders.
We consult on the following topics:
Gender equity and inclusion
Strategic planning and gender diversity
Human resources and gender
Policies and procedures related to gender
Current language related to gender and sexuality
Together, we customize an approach to meet learning objectives that we develop together. In the past, we have taken the following approaches to creating change:
Workshops, customizable
Mediation, in which we facilitate conversations between individuals or groups to help navigate specific topics in professional and personal spheres
Consulting conversations, for individuals and organizations, with lived experience experts and subject matter experts on gender and sexuality
Project Management, leading through organizational change or launching new initiatives in the arts, community support, education, and government
Conversation cafes, in which we talk about gender or another chosen topic, in a group setting, with professional facilitators
Speaking to groups and on panels
Coaching for individuals, leaders, and teams
Community Support Services
When resources are available, Trans Manitoba provides programming and support resources for community members who may be Two Spirit, nonbinary, transgender, gender non-conforming, questioning their understanding of gender, or experiencing barriers due to gender-based discrimination, queerphobia, and transphobia. Please contact us for consulting or project management for community support projects and events (we’ve even done commitment ceremonies!). Let’s get creative together!

Fees
From $25/hr for nonprofit organizations and community members, to $200/hr.
Trans Manitoba is entirely funded through community support. We offer a sliding scale for our education, consulting, and project management services. This sliding scale is made possible through community donations, volunteer hours, and subsidization from the social enterprise model used by our education services.
Using a social enterprise model, Trans Manitoba’s education contracts with for-profit organizations, along with grants and fundraising, subsidize non-profit contracts. Our fee scale starts at $25/hr. for project management and $75/hr. for training/workshops and goes to $200/hr for corporate rates. We will partner with you to agree on a rate. We are also open to trades of time, volunteerism, and goods.
Trans Manitoba’s goal is to share our knowledge generously, while paying a living wage to those working on our projects, in order to respect the lived experience of our team and to acknowledge the barriers Two Spirit, nonbinary, and trans folks face in gaining institutionalized knowledge and paid work.
Through this social enterprise model, Trans Manitoba has supported the following projects and events:
Gender Cafe, Winnipeg
Transgender Day of Remembrance, Winnipeg 2019
Pantry Community Kitchen, Winnipeg
Sophie Labelle’s tour-stops in Brandon and Winnipeg, MB 2019
